1995 Hello, Just a little note to let you know how Ray Colling is doing. He has been moved to Room 314. He is closer to the nurse's desk and is next to the window so he can see outside. He continues to lose weight and is now down to 94 lbs. I try to tempt him with some fattening food when I visit. He generally doesn't eat very much. He is so weak he can't get out of bed on his own now. The staff generally get him up to sit in his chair during the day. The last 2 times we have been to visit him we haven't been able to wake him up. The staff says he's difficult to wake when he goes to sleep. He is developing a cough and looks dehydrated. He is drinking fluids better when I am there. The staff say he is at risk for choking so they don't push him to drink when he says no. They seem to take good care of him. Ray says they are always waking him up to eat or drink.

Raymond N. Colling
PORTLAND, Ore. - Raymond N. Colling of Portland Ore., died May 8 at Portland. He was 88 years old.
He was born Dec. 8,1906, in Indianola, to Mathias and Elizabeth (Uerling) Colling.
On June 8, 1929, he married Lucy Barr at Broken Bow.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers. Survivors include a sister, Carrie McBride of Longmont, Colo., and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass was held Thursday at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Portland.
There will be a rosary Sunday, 7:30 p.m., at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola and funeral mass at 10 a.m., Monday at St. Catherine's, with the Rev. Daniel Pohl officiating.
Inurnment will be in the church cemetery.
