Heinrich Kolling, about 24 yr., declared to John Glos clerk of circuit Court of DuPage County he was born in Lahr* (error), Rhenish Prussia in Germany, belonged to Kingdom of Prussia and owed allegiance to the King & Germanic Confederation. He migrated from Port of Antwerp in Holland on the first day of May 1855 and landed in the City of New York on 22 Jun 1855. He renounced all allegiance and fidelity to the King of Prussia or Germanic Confederation, no titles or nobility, signed Heinrich Colling.
(* Error because we have his birth certificate showing he was born in Obersgegen, 5 mi. to the west of Lahr. The family moved to Lahr when he was small.)
